Reese Nature Sanctuary
Directions
South of Wappingers Falls. From the intersection of US 9 and County 28, turn west on County 28 crossing over the Wappinger Estuary into the hamlet of New Hamburg. Turn right on Main Street. Parking is at the New Hamburg Park.
Train Directions
Metro North has service to New Hamburg. From the station, the park is a short walk up Main Street.
Park Overview
A wildlife and nature sanctuary maintained by the Audubon Society.
Trail Overview
The trail runs along a ridge 60 feet above Wappingers Creek as a segment of the Wappinger Greenway Trail. Use the Web Map link on this site to view the Greenway trail system; point "G" identifies the Reese Nature (Audubon) Sanctuary.
Park Description
The park is owned and administered by the Putnam County Chapter of the Audubon Society and is preserved as a nature sanctuary particularly for migratory birds.
