Directions
Take US 9W north 5.8 miles from its intersection with NY 299 and turn left [west] onto Old Post Road.
- The Lower Parking Lot is 0.2 mile from US 9W, on the right side of the road -- White Trail trailhead. GPS Coordinates: 41.826835, -73.970128
- The Upper Parking Lot is 2.5 miles from US 9W, continue west on Old Post Road turn right onto Poppletown Road to Louisa Pond. GPS Coordinates: 41.837703, -73.993937
Park Overview
Located on the slopes and top of the Shaupeneak Ridge, the park offers views of the Hudson River and a waterfall
Trail Overview
From the Lower Parking Lot -- see "Directions to Trailhead" -- the challenging White Trail (1.63 miles, one way) leads past a spur trail (Purple, 0.10 mile) to a waterfall, then on to a Hudson River overlook after connecting with the Red Trail.
From the Upper Parking Lot the Blue Trail (1.18 miles) loops around Louisa Pond. Several loop hikes are possible using a network of six trails near the pond.
