Join our volunteers to gain or brush up on the skills necessary to become a volunteer Trail Maintainer!

Join NYNJTC Trail Supervisors Nancy and Ed Duviski and Eleanor Leen in this Trail Maintenance Workshop!

Trail Maintainers visit their trails 3 to 4 times each year to ensure the trails are clearly marked and free of obstacles to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all trail users.

This involves using small hand tools to clip and cut brush out of the trail, removing debris from drainage structures, painting or hanging trail markers, and reporting on the conditions of the trail.

A Prerequisite of this workshop is to watch our Trail Maintenance Webinar. The webinar covers many of the basic concepts behind trail maintenance and this workshop will build upon those concepts by putting them into practice.

We will go over the basics of trail maintenance outside on the trails and you will get a chance to practice maintaining a trail!
